The trip across South Dakota was amazing. Crossing the Missouri River, oceans of grassland, miles of sunflowers, the badlands, and finally the black hills. The only issue I ran into was the wind, it was really windy coming across the grasslands. The motorcycles were leaning into the cross wind so it looked like they were going to tip over half the time.
Time for some pictures
This was my crossing of the Missouri River, it’s kind of a lake where we crossed over, it was pretty impressive. The railway bridge was pretty cool too.
Next was the grasslands and sunflower fields, if you look on the right side, that yellow area was miles of sunflowers.
This is a small area of the Badlands I went through, it’s difficult to get good pictures going 80+MPH.
The Sturgis Bike rally is going on this week (google it, it’s huge). This was in Keytone on my way to the camp ground. Stugis is about 50 miles from Keystone, and Keystone was packed with motorcycles, I can only imagine what Sturgis is like.
I setup camp and then cooked dinner (Steak and Mashed Potatoes it was very good).
Finally here is Cash and I at the campsite. In addition to keeping this blog, I also brought along my paper journal, that one is for me alone.
