Today Cash and I spent the day exploring Custer State Park. A huge park, full of buffalo, prairie lands, and dotted with small lakes. It was very hot today, 91 degrees. So I thought today would be a good day to do the wildlife loop in Custer Park. We saw some beautiful landscapes and some buffalo, and then we spent the rest of the day fishing and exploring around Lakota Lake. We also worked in an afternoon nap, which felt wonderful in the afternoon heat.

One of the many tunnels through rock in the area.
Another Tunnel
Buffalo Cow
Herd of buffalo
Islands of prairie
Donkeys, these donkeys were once used to haul people to the top of Black Elk Peak (the one I climbed monday) they no longer use donkeys to take people up there, so they let the donkeys loose in the park.
More Donkeys
More Prairie, They estimate that Custer has around 1300 buffalo, and they do not feed them, so the buffalo need all of this prairie grass.
My view while fishing.
Cash was loving being off leash, and frolicking in the water and forest.
View from the hike to the fishing spot.
Another view from Lakota Lake.
