Me and Robyn

June 20th 2019, it’s a day that will have forever changed me. My wife Robyn, after a battle of almost 5 years, passed from this life to the next. Robyn was diagnosed with leukemia in November of 2014, and had a stem cell transplant in March of 2015. For the next 4 years she battled side effects from the treatments. The end of our earthly journey didn’t go as we planned. We had so many plans, though growing old together was the ultimate goal. We also had many plans to travel, and that has been one of the inspirations for my travel and this blog.

While Robyn won’t be physically present, she has been with me on every single adventure. You see I keep a small portion of her ashes in my truck, and with me when I hike. So we’ve been together on top of mountains in South Dakota, hiked in the snow in Red River Gorge, kyacked down the river, and watched storms roll accross the fields near our home.

Robyn is forever a part of me, I will always be in love with her. She has been the most influential person in my life. Most of the good parts of me, she is responsible for. As I set out on this new adventure she is with me, in my heart, and in my pack.
