What an adventure so far. We Stopped in Albuquerque, NM for our last night before entering the Grand Canyon. We got up and looked for a local establishment to have breakfast before heading out. We found the Frontier Restaurant downtown, across the street from the University of New Mexico. We had a good breakfast with a great big cinnamon roll and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Leaving Albuquerque behind, we head to the Grand Canyon, it’s about an 8 hour drive from Albuquerque.

We stopped in Williams AZ, about an hour out side of the Grand Canyon, this little town sits on historical US Route 66. We had dinner there and explored a bit before heading into the Grand Canyon National Park.

Finally we made it into the Grand Canyon National Park. We’ve stayed at one of the coolest places; Bright Angel Lodge isn’t a lodge in the traditional sense. It a complex of small buildings build in the early 1900s. It’s more like a summer camp, where the buildings and names. Our first room was in Powell. It was a really sweet room with an attached private bathroom. No AC, No TV, it had these really cool cottage style windows that opened out, the screen was on the inside.

Oh and it’s right on the Grand Canyon South Rim, so there was a little path that you walked down about 20 yards and you were right on the Canyon Rim where you had views like this:

Tomorrow I’ll post a bunch of pictures from the Grand Canyon, I promise it’ll be epic.
